What’s most important to know about me and my work is that I’m here to capture your moments - no matter the price"
I would describe my style as "candid," or what’s often referred to as "documentary" photography. My goal is never to interrupt or pose you—I believe the most beautiful images are those where people are simply being themselves. If you look at my Instagram or Facebook, you won’t see a curated color palette or trendy filters. Instead, you’ll find photos that reflect the true essence of the day, exactly as it happened.
I also believe that everyone deserves to have their moments documented. I take pride in offering affordable options and working closely with clients to ensure they get exactly what they need. If there’s ever something you’re looking for that I don’t currently offer, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always excited to try something new and make your vision come to life.

To truly understand my work, I think it helps to know a bit about where I come from. I grew up in rural Wisconsin on over 30 acres of land, alongside my five siblings. For part of my childhood, we lived in a two-bedroom log cabin without electricity or running water. While that might sound tough to some, I remember it as a time full of adventure—some of my most cherished childhood memories come from those early years.
When I was about 13, my mom bought a Nikon D800. Before long, I had learned to use it—before she even had the chance to—and it quickly became my own. Photography became more than just a hobby. Through high school, I captured moments for friends and family, started my own small business at 16, and spent summers photographing the people and places I came across. Those summers inspired dreams of working for publications like National Geographic or Life Magazine.
After high school, I moved to Minnesota for college, where I worked as a photographer and media archivist for my school and neighboring institutions. During that time, I had the opportunity to be involved in projects that included interviews with inspiring individuals such as astronaut Mark Vande Hei and former White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in history.
Each summer during college, I worked at a Boy Scout camp—first as a First-Year Camper Director and later as the camp’s Digital Media Coordinator. That camp is especially meaningful to me, as it’s also where I met my fiancé. After graduating, I moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area and began my career as a middle and high school history teacher. Outside of the classroom, I spend much of my time outdoors with my fiancé and our Labrador, Jerry. We recently bought our first home—a three-bedroom log cabin, this time with running water and electricity! I continue to pursue my love for photography and still dream of spending my summers capturing meaningful stories and moments.
